The Scottish Clay Target Association Ltd (SCTA) will allow member clubs to operate and administer Registered / Selection shoots under the following rules:
2. All layouts used must comply with the regulations for that discipline.
3. Only current members of the SCTA or members of another recognized national clay shooting association may enter Registered / Selection events, and must produce their current membership card. Shooters may join the SCTA membership when entering the shoot. Only scores of new members should be marked N/M on the score return form. All membership renewals must be sent direct to the Association Treasurer and must not be accepted at the ground.
5. A copy of the distribution of prize monies must be posted on or near the score board before the completion of the day's competition.
6. The following information must be returned to the SCTA within 10 days of the event; (Note 1)
a) All scores (both Prize money and Birds Only entries) taking care that each competitor's association membership number is correct. (Note 1)
b) Any “Scratched” scores clearly marked as such.
c) The requisite levy relating to the competition. (Notes 2 & 3)
d) The requisite levy relating to each individual entry. (Notes 2 & 3)
Note 1 If the required information is not sent to the Secretary of the SCTA within the prescribed period, all scores for that competition will be disregarded for team and classification purposes.
Note 2 The Shoot Levy for the Ground is £10.00 per discipline per day plus £3.00 for each competitor taking part in all selection shoots listed in the current “Bulletin”
Note 3 There is no levy payable to the SCTA for Junior Members. Grounds may wish to take this into consideration when setting the entry fees for juniors.
7. A jury comprised of at least five competent persons must be appointed for all Registered / Selection events. A minimum of three members will be required for all decisions. The jury should include a representative of the shoot organizer, referees and shooters. In the case of a major championship a representative of the governing body should also be included.
The Jury should inspect the targets before the commencement of the competition to ensure that all targets fully comply with the specified rules of the discipline. The names of the Jury members should be posted beside or near the scoreboard.
8. A qualified Safety Officer (having attended a recognized course) should be present throughout the competition. The jury will ensure that any breach of safety regulations is dealt with as quickly as possible and a written report sent to the Secretary of the SCTA with the shoot return etc.
9. Referees: If the competitors are not required to referee then where possible a qualified referee or a person authorized and competent to adjudicate at any competition should be appointed in accordance with technical and general rules of the discipline. Whenever possible a qualified referee should be used at all registered events.
10. Grounds are responsible for providing the following:
a All layouts used must comply with the regulations for the discipline.
b) A First Aid kit must be available on the ground and a sign describing its location placed in a prominent position.
c) Toilet and hand washing facilities must be available and should be kept in working order and clean at all times.
d) It is a pre-requisite that catering facilities are available to the competitors.
e) A fully operational emergency procedure plan.
f) A current copy of the rule book for the discipline being shot must be available.
11. Wherever possible the ground should be accessible to disabled shooters. This applies to stands, clubhouse, toilets and any other area which a disabled shooter may be reasonably expected to visit. Grounds should notify the SCTA Secretary of the facilities available for disabled persons.
12. If running an Area Championship it is necessary for the host Club to provide either a trophy, badges, keep cups or all three if possible.
13. Entry times must be clearly advertised, including the “closing time” which must be intimated in the ground's application to the SCTA for Registered / Selection competitions.
14. It is the responsibility of the participating ground to have full insurance in force. A copy certificate must be sent to the SCTA when applying for shoots. A copy of the insurance certificate must be displayed prominently at the ground.
15. All current regulations regarding safety including the wearing of eye and hearing protection by competitors, spectators in the vicinity of shooting and staff must be enforced. Safety equipment must be available for all staff and guests.
16. A breach of any of the regulations may render the host ground ineligible to hold future events
